Prof. Gamage completed her PhD at the Management and Science University (MSU) in Malaysia following on from her B.Sc.(Business Administration) Special degree with a first class honors and M. Sc. (Management) degree, both from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. In addition, she is an Attorney-at-Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka.
She is the recipient of a number of awards for her academic excellence such as the T. Sinnadore Scholarship for best student, Werakoon Gold medal for highest marks obtained for Operational Research by University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Honors pass at the Intermediate Exam of Sri Lanka Law College, and also the Gold Medal in recognition of her excellent contributions made to the HR field by the Women in Management Institute, Sri Lanka. She was fittingly awarded the Most Outstanding Researcher’s Award for the year 2014 for her exceptional contribution and achievements in the field of Management research by the University of Kelaniya.
Prof. Gamage has over 20 years of teaching experience at undergraduate, postgraduate, and professional courses. She has held numerous senior positions including Head of the Department of HRM, Coordinator of Master of HRM and Deputy Director/Acting Director of the Center for Distance and Continuing Education at the University of Kelaniya.
She is the author of five textbooks on HRM, Employment Law, and Business Law and has also published more than seventy research papers in both, local and international journals. Thus, she has participated in many local and international conferences as a presenter, session chair and key-note speaker. Moreover, she has developed a number of Masters degree programs and undergraduate degree programs for state and non state universities. She serves as the member of the academic governing council of the Institute of Tourism and Hospitality Management of Sri Lanka and also Institute of Personnel Management Sri Lanka.
